About

I am a dramaturg and teaching artist who believes that stories have the power to change the world and our deepest selves.

In rehearsal rooms, I ensure that dramaturgy, what Lue Douthit calls “the art of elevating the 2D art form of the play to the 3D art form of the play,” is something everyone participates in. As a teaching artist, I empower students to believe that their voices and words matter just as much, if not more, than those of some old dead white guy.

I love challenging texts that speak to uncomfortable truths and I believe that Mamma Mia! is a feminist masterpiece. I relish in plays that are inventive with language and I also laugh incredibly hard when dancers move in juxtaposition to their music. I cry when the lights dim in a crowded theatre and the orchestra begins to tune, as well as at Petco holiday commercials. Basically, I like feeling things intensely about other people, with other people.

My theatrical homes past and present include Center Theatre Group, the Williamstown Theatre Festival, Santa Cruz Shakespeare, The Public Theater, and The Workshop Theater. I hold a BFA in Dramaturgy from Carnegie Mellon University and I currently live in Brooklyn on sovereign Lenape land. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, a fact that shocks people, presumably because I’m pale, walk fast, and hate the beach.
